There is a garden in Churchtown, Co Dublin that is hidden away. Throughout the year, it is quietly nurtured and its plants lovingly tended by its owners Jackie and John Horan. They work hard and see the wonderful combinations of rain and sunshine work their magic as the garden gradually matures and blossoms.
Every year this couple open their garden to the public for one day. They invite people to come and view their wonderful plants, beautiful floral displays and sample scrumptious homemade goodies in the stunning surroundings of their garden – and they do all this in aid of a specific project for Team Hope.
Once again, they are generously opening their garden gates on Saturday 20th May from 10am-4pm. All proceeds from the day will go towards a seed project that Team Hope is involved in in Machakos, Kenya.
Following on from last year’s catastrophic drought, Team Hope are working with the local farmers in Kenya to buy enough seed to replant 268 hectares of land. This will benefit 350 families and the return from these drought-resistant seeds will guarantee food and re-plantable seed for years to come.
We want to thank Jackie and John for their wonderful support of Team Hope. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
