School’s and the 2020 Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Things are very different for all of us this year but it’s especially different for schools. We are so grateful to every school who has chosen to get involved in this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal!

Scoil Íde Corbally, Co Limerick

5th class in Scoil Íde, Co Limerick raised €1045 for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal by running three marathon relays!

Well done guys, that’s more than 52 shoebox created for children affected by poverty! You should all be so, so proud.

De La Salle, Waterford

Well done to all of the boys at De La Salle Waterford and their teacher Ms Fowler for raising €1764 for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

That’s 88 Shoeboxes!!

Their fundraisers (yes, plural!) included raffles, sponsored walks, hair cuts, quiz’s, games and no homework payments. That’s an amazing effort and an amazing result!

Scoil Aonghusa Senior, Tallaght, Dublin

The Scoil Aonghusa SNR Student Council organised “Winter Wonderland Wednesday” in aid of the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. What a gorgeous idea!

Even with the Christmas Shoebox Appeal going online we are so impressed by all of the creative ways everyone has gotten involved.

Well done to all involved for living up to the Spirit of Scoil Aonghusa Values: Cineáltas, Grá, Hope, Responsibility and Witness!

CBS Primary School, Kilkenny

High School, Dublin

The High School transition years have raised almost €3,000 for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal .

That’s 150 Christmas Shoeboxes!

Their beautiful and innovative idea was to create a fundraising wall for the reception area and everyone who donated €20 had their name added to a brick on the wall!

Dunamase College, Portlaoise

Students of Dunamase College designed their own Christmas cards this year, putting their talents towards a wonderful cause in aid of Christmas Shoeboxes.

They have also been delivering cards to nursing homes, bring festive cheer wherever they go!

Finn Valley College, Co Donegal

Here are some of the first year CSPE class Boland and Beckett with their SNA in Finn Valley College, Co. Donegal. The students all generously donated to create their online Christmas Shoeboxes this year!

St Mary’s, Baldoyle

St Mary’s in Baldoyle are running a raffle in aid of the Christmas Shoebox Appeal at SVP!

With Daily winners, both the students and us are delighted with this super initiative!

Coláiste na Toirbhirte

The Transition Year religion class and their teacher Ms Moynihan at Coláiste na Toibhirte, Bandon, orgaised a colouring competition in aid of the Christmas Shoebox Appeal this year!

St Kieran’s College Cake Sale

Well done to the St Kieran’s College transition year students, their parents, Ms Moran & all teachers who took part in their annual Christmas Cake Sale.

They raised over €1000 to send more than 50 shoeboxes to children affected by poverty this year!

Non-uniform Days

Every child who receives a gift from your this Christmas will feel your love from across the world and you should be so proud of every donation!

Coláiste Bhríde

Coláiste Bhríde in Wicklow have raised a whopping €1,010 for this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal!

THat’s 50 children who will receive Christmas gifts this year thanks to their incredible generosity!

Christmas Shoebox Aistear Station

Múinteoir Caoimhe has set the Christmas Shoebox Appeal up as her pupils Aistear station, complete with boxes, the 4W’s and a computer because this year’s Appeal is online!

After getting a copy of our new Christmas Shoebox Appeal book for Aistear classes she used the book to create a whole role play station around it.

“The children have been loving learning about the shoebox appeal and really enjoyed the story of Bunny’s shoebox journey!…they continue to engage with it and… keep asking to watch the 2020 video and have coloured the printables. Lots of learning and such a lovely way for them to learn that not everyone is as lucky as them at Christmas”

Abbey Community College, Boyle

De La Salle’s TY Wellbeing Classes are fundraising for Christmas Shoeboxes. This year they are hoping to raise enough money to send 50 Shoeboxes!
